Give your wardrobe the boot

posted 20.11.2009

I’ve been lusting after these Chloe lace-up wedges (£445)  for months now, and I know I’m not alone.

And whilst I’d love to splash out on them, my ever-depleting bank balance means that I’ll probably buy these amazing Topshop wedges that have just dropped into stores for a more justifiable £85.

And if you need convincing that buying them is a good idea then you can content yourself with the knowledge that they’re set to be a wardrobe essential come spring too - not only will they look amazing teamed with all the silks and lace that will be littering the trends next season, I also spotted a much-coveted take on the look in the Spring collection from Russel & Bromley.

Kookai has a moment

When I was a teenager Kookai was one of the places to shop, but I think it’s fair to say that the French fashion brand has dropped of the radar in recent years. But not anymore. With a new store opening in central London and a couple of right-on-trend collections under its belt, Kookai is having fashion moment.

Tomorrow sees the opening of its London flagship boutique - you can find it in St Chrisopher’s Place just behind Oxford Street - and the launch of its brand new online store. Yesterday I got a sneak preview inside, and a first look at the Spring 2010 collection and I’m itching to get my hands on it. Too bad that I’ll have to wait until next season to snap it up, but thankfully the autumn collection is just as covetable - I’ve got my eye on the leather jacket below:

Steve Madden hits Covent Garden

posted 19.11.2009

Steve Madden, footwear favourite of everyone from Kate Moss to Heidi Klum (not to mention Team ELLE), has quietly been converting London shoppers into die-hard fans from its pop-up store just off Carnaby Street. This weekend, however, the American brand is set to become more prominent in the capital with a brand new space opening in Covent Garden.

Decked out with decor that channels the rock ‘n roll, New York vibe that the brand is famous for, it will be a one-stop-shop for all the hottest shoes and bags from the latest collections. And, of course, it wouldn’t be an opening weekend without some offers.

Head down on Saturday or Sunday and you could win a whole host of prizes with the scratch cards that will be handed out, from free pairs to 50% off your favourites. Race you there!
