It’s the spring summer 09 shows and I’m going to be giving you the run down on the best parties, the front row gossip oh, and the fashion too. Cannot wait to see the super models again, they become like old friends by the end of Paris and I’ve missed them!

I had a mystery bug on Monday and was so ill I had to take the day off which gave me no time to organise my schedule or more importantly - my New York fashion week wardrobe! I panic packed on Tuesday morning at 7.30 am but managed to pull off a fairly satisfactory show wardrobe, what a professional, what a miracle more like. Am still feeling slightly frazzled and disorganised due to very little sleep and when I got on the plane I realised I hadn’t packed any flight time essentials, namely my pot of crème de la mer. My face felt like it was stretched across my face in the manner of Joan Rivers, which was attractive.

I didn’t make the Marc by Marc show which was at 4 pm due to a flight diversion over Canada. Goddamnit, I’ve got next summer to see, what is wrong with these people? The Americans decided to get all super duper on time last season, leaving hobbling across town in the ‘tricky statement shoe of the minute’ nigh on impossible. I am still not recovered from missing the Halston show last season which was scheduled for 2.00 pm and started at 2.15! This may sound odd to you, and of course anything that is scheduled should start on time, however this is fashion world where the shows in London, Milan and Paris start at the very least an hour late thus giving you an hour extra in bed in the morning but it does add an extra hour to the end of the day.

Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti was the first presentation of the day and for me, of the new SS09 season. Held in a huge loft near the meat packing district, the collection was gorgeous, pretty and feminine with lots of lovely little parka’s over dresses. As for the cocktails, enough said. Next it was off to Narciso and what a fantastic new look our Agyness Deyn is working hair wise. That mini bob we were all taken with last week in the gossip weeklies looked hot slicked back in a sort of Studio Line by L’Oreal early 90s way. The show was sleek and pretty and full of racer back dresses, which look quite hard to wear for the average gal. I loved his dinner held at Indochine, and although I felt mildly insane from jet lag, I still managed to party the hours away at the Prada party on Broadway.

This morning was the Micheal Kors show where Agyness was working her mini bob down with a fringe and red lipstick, i’ll be keeping an eye on her this month, wonder what other hair tricks she’s going to pull off - remember last season when she turned into a red head at GILES?!!. I’m off to Philip Lim now. See you later alligator.
