Last summer playsuits and all-in-ones appeared on the catwalks of a few, young designers and edgier labels.

One year later however, and they are everywhere from the most chic, sophisticated New York labels accustomed to dressing debutantes and Park Avenue Princesses, to, well everyone in London in various incarnations. 80s at Unique, slashed to the hip at Marios Schwab, Tuxedo edged at Todd Lynn and with a dose a 70s chic at Jaeger to name but a few.

It’s a trend that can’t be ignored, so I’m finally going to try one. It’s my best friend’s wedding in February and I’m thinking, what about a trouser gown – a la Derek Lam. It is after all, all about the trouser this season.
