Shopping Crush

posted 5.11.2009

One of the many perks of my job is that I get to spend my day compiling my shopping list, all in the name of ‘research’. So this morning I have been dutifully checking out the newly re-launched Whistles website - which, incidentally, you should really have a look at - and have, quite by accident, alighted upon a new shopping crush.

Whistles dress

Nicely ticking the so-now animal print trend box, and satisfying my magpie-like need for sequins, I think this could be my new party dress. Which is good, because the Christmas lights are on on Oxford Street which apparently means the festive season is just around the corner. I need to be prepared.

The animal sequins dress is £295 and in store now. Visit www.whistles.co.uk to snap it up.

Win tickets!

Jaeger has long been a staple of every London girl’s wardrobe, and if you’re a fan and fashion buff then you’ll be excited to know that the team behind the British heritage brand is taking part in a seminar on tailoring at the V&A this Friday afternoon - and I have a pair of tickets to give away.

Jaeger

The brand’s design team will sit alongside Tristan Webber, tutor at London College of Fashion, and the team from Tailoring For Women, one of the very few women’s tailors on Saville Row.  The event, called ‘Women’s Tailoring: Genesis and Evolution’, will take a look at everything from the history of tailoring to its place in modern fashion. Plus members of the sudience will have a chance to ask questions, and be given a goodie bag to take away. Sounds like a splendid way to spend an afternoon to me.

The seminar is set to take place on Friday 6 Novemer from 1:30-5:30. Tickets cost £25 for the general public and £5 for students. For your chance to win a pair of tickets simply drop me an email at elleblogs@hf-uk.com - the first reader to write will win.
